An official delegation headed by Liu Jianguo, a vice-mayor of Changzhou city (Jiangsu province of the People’s Republic of China), visited Tomsk special economic zone. The visit aim was to discuss cooperation prospects with Tomsk in the field of innovative business.

Konstantin Kaminskiy, Deputy Director General of Joint-stock Company “Tomsk special economic zone of technology development type” informed the guests about business dealing opportunities on SEZ territory, benefits and preferences, rendered to residents. Moreover, Mr. Kaminskiy presented the most outstanding projects implemented by the residents in the eastermost and closest to China SEZ of technology development type.

According to Mr. Liu Jianguo, Russia and China SEZ has much in common: both activity directions (in Changzhou they are as follows: new power generation, new materials and nanotechnologies, pharmaceuticals-centered biotechnologies) and principals of government, business and educational complex efforts integration.

Reckoning up the meeting, Mr. Liu Jianguo underlined that Tomsk and notably special technology development zone can become a very appealing center for partnership development between Russia and China. He also admitted that Russia has a potent scientific and technological base, whereas Changzhou has a huge experience in scientific research results commercialization and production launching. In his opinion, there is an abundant scope for cooperation and experience exchange.
