Roundtable discussion «How to start an innovative economy in nuclear industry: heading for cluster development»
Goal: discussion of the need for a complex of activities aimed at decommissioning and conversion of atomic enterprises as part of the innovative development of the Tomsk regional atomic cluster, the need to identify the possible role of atomic cluster in the social and economic development of the Tomsk agglomeration taking into account international experience.
Issues and topics for discussion:
- international experience of atomic cluster creation – example of West Cumbria Business Cluster in the region where Sellafield, the largest British nuclear site, is located
- decommissioning of civilian nuclear facilities, conversion of sites (presentation of a case to demonstrate how to overcome social consequences associated with lay-off of highly qualified personnel when decommissioning nuclear facilities)
- establishment of the industrial park for the deployment of innovative production in closed administrative territorial unit of Seversk.
