Environment of the innovation city includes the core of the innovation city, which Tomsk virtually has, that consists of the combination of universities and all that surrounds them. This environment may be metaphorically defined as a “boiling broth” of small innovative companies that are linked to universities, laboratories and the young. They “hold on”, “emerge”, “burst”, “reappear” driven by the enthusiasm of the youth and its readiness to experiment, which implies risk taking. Environment of the innovation city is tied to the representation of those companies that are able to commercialize and bring what is created in this environment to the international markets. It consists of city communities that support, understand and fully engage in this activity. It consists of a certain type of architecture, design of urban space that does not prevent these people from feeling at home. And, no doubt, it emerges and exists due to the “involvement”, i.e. involvement in global markets that are not limited to those used for “delivering” own products and technologies, but include those that help “attract” people of a certain nature. The results of the business game for the young “Creative city” that was held on May 24−25 and was discussed today at the round table “Innovative urban environment” will be presented to the city administration, and personally to the Mayor and his deputy. We are going to have a joint discussion of the game results.
